Oh, hello April..
I am not longer going to act like I can commit to daily, or even weekly blogging….I obviously don’t have that kind of time or energy these days..it’s whatever. Anyway, its been a busy month or so, lots of laughing and growing and cooking and visiting and train riding.
I try to bring baby Julian to see my parents every few weeks, we take the amtrack in (it’s hit or miss,...

Day 4: A photo of you in your favorite outfit.
Today was quite the day. This morning was a little rough. Julian was a little cranky because of gas, his poor little tummy was so upset. Im trying to figure out what culprit is..I have a feeling its all the yummy garlic and onion that my friend Jon feeds me when he comes over to make me lunch. If its not that, its probably the dairy, yogurt and...
Day 3: Who is someone you know who inspires beauty?
There are several people in my life who truly inspire me, it was hard to decide who to assign this post to. Most of my friends are incredibly creative, inventive, thoughtful and expressive, I really enjoy that about the people I surround myself with. This person in general though, consistently inspires me, almost to the point of jealousy,...

Day 2: What makes you uniquely you?
This morning I was really blessed to have my dear friend Shiloh stop by to spend some time with me and Julian. I told her about Im doing this 31 day thing exploring beauty and how I thought it would really help me to re discover beauty in myself and in others around me. She shared with me a lot of her own journey and experience, and one of the points she made...

I’ll start this out with some honesty. I’d like to be able to tell you that beauty to me, means something spiritual, unseen, immeasurable, redeeming and worth fighting for. While, I do believe that beauty can mean those thing, my first thought is that it means something aesthetically pleasing to look at (the obvious answer). I would like to be able to condition myself to consider the...
a bit out of character
I say “a bit out of character” because for the last few years I have been very VERY selective as to who I share my spiritual life with, chalk it up to years not guarding my heart and a swift and hard realization that not everyone wants to hear my story, or what I have to say about God and love and beauty. Im assuming that if you are reading this, you actually WOULD like to hear about...

Lies Drew, Lies.
SO today I heard an add from covergirl, and it went something like this:
“covergirl lipstain, the best selling lip stain in America! One is bought every 15 seconds!”
here are my issues:
#1: I bought that lip stain because I, for some reason, trusted Drew Barymore. (and was unaware at the time of my point in #3) It totally sucked, worst lip stain I’ve ever tried….Ive...
Today, I slept in till 11:40. I am going to take a shower, actually style my hair and NOT cover it with a hat. I will then find my favorite copy of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Books, the one with all the pictures, and read it on the way downtown to deposit my check, and get a lovely large decaf vanilla latte from my friendly baristas at Intelligentsia (maybe half caff..). Then I will...

my exit, observed, my homesickness, absurd, i said “water,” expecting a word would satisfy my thirst! talking all about the second and third when i haven’t understood the first. jonah, where’s that boat going- your ship set with eager sail? there’s a swirling storm soon blowing, and no use, fishermen, in rowing from a consecrated wale! just like the clouds bring a...
